Following Liberty's final full practice of the week, Head Coach Turner Gill met with the media to discuss his team's preparation for their matchup against Kennesaw State on Saturday.
Following the team's longest road stretch since the 2001 season, the Flames (3-4, 0-2 BSC) will play their first home game since Sept. 19 when they host the Owls (5-1, 1-0 BSC) to cap off Liberty's Homecoming Weekend.
At 0-2 in conference play, the Flames are seeking their first Big South victory of 2015. Meanwhile, first-year program Kennesaw State defeated Gardner-Webb, 12-7, in the Owls' first-ever Big South contest last Saturday.
The Flames have lost in double overtime on Homecoming during each of the last two seasons, including a 55-52 setback to Coastal Carolina in 2013 and a 46-39 loss to Richmond last season. Liberty is 28-13 all-time on Homecoming and the Flames' last five Homecoming games have each drawn over 18,000 fans to Williams Stadium.
Liberty's last three Homecoming games have each been decided by seven points or less. The Flames are 6-2 and are averaging 48.5 ppg during their last eight Homecoming contests. Liberty is 7-3 in Big South games played on Homecoming at Williams Stadium.
The Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) will provide radio and television coverage for the contest. LFSN Radio's Flames Pregame Tailgate Show is scheduled to go on the air at 5:30 p.m., while LFSN TV broadcast can be seen by various outlets throughout the country. For more information about where to watch and/or listen to the game, check out the Game Day Central page for this Saturday's home contest.
