Prior to Liberty's final event of the fall golf schedule, LFSN recently had a chance to catch up with Head Men's Golf Coach Jeff Thomas and sophomore Isaiah Logue.
The Flames have had a strong start to the 2015-16 season and are currently ranked No. 31 in the country in the latest Golfstat.com team rankings.
Liberty captured its 25th NCAA Division I team tournament title at the end of September, finishing 21 strokes ahead of fellow Big South foe Campbell to win the Rees Jones Invitational. The Flames had four of their five starters finish the event in the top six of the 55-man field, including Logue and Gabe Lench sharing individual medalist honors.
In their most recent event, the Flames finished in third place at the David Toms Intercollegiate, Oct. 10-11 behind defending national champion LSU and Kansas State.
Logue, who is individually ranked No. 32 in the country, leads the Flames with a 71.89 season stroke average. The sophomore has finished top 10 in each of Liberty's three fall events and has twice been named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week.
The Flames will cap off their four-event fall schedule on Nov. 6-8, when they participate in the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Hawaii at the Ka'anapali Golf Course in Maui, Hawaii.
