The Liberty softball team has earned the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Academic Team award for the second year in a row.
The Lady Flames posted a team grade-point average of 3.460 during the 2014-15 academic year, the 19th best GPA among all NCAA Division I softball programs. Lipscomb earned the highest GPA in the nation, at 3.645.
The NFCA All-Academic Team award was given to each member institution that recorded a 3.0 or higher GPA during the 2014-15 academic year. A total of 107 NCAA Division I schools received the award. Liberty led all Big South teams in GPA, as Presbyterian (3.25) and Gardner-Webb (3.2) also earned the All-Academic Team award.
Earlier this month, 10 Lady Flames received the distinction as NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.
