Following a career game at Southern Illinois this past weekend, Liberty's B.J. Farrow has been named this week's football Big South Freshman of the Week.
Farrow, a redshirt freshman from Lynchburg, Va., posted his first career 100-yard game, leading the Flames with eight receptions for 101 yards. He came into the game with six receptions for 96 yards during the first three games of the season.
Four of Farrow's eight catches were for 10 or more yards, including a 34-yard reception, while seven of his touches went for first downs.
Farrow is the third different Liberty receiver to post a 100-yard game in 2015. Dante' Shells (111 yards) and Zac Parker (101) both surpassed the century mark during Liberty's win over No. 8/7 Montana on Sept. 19.
The wide receiver is the first Flame to be named Big South Freshman of the Week in 2015. Three different Liberty players during four different weeks received the same honor in 2014.
Joining Farrow as weekly Big South award winners were Charleston Southern running back Mike Holloway (Offensive Player of the Week), Presbyterian defensive back Ed Britt (Defensive Player of the Week) and Monmouth punter/kicker Matt White (Special Teams Player of the Week).
The Flames will continue their four-game road swing this Saturday when they face Georgia State. Kickoff for Liberty's final non-conference game of the regular season is slated for 3:30 p.m. inside the Georgia Dome.
