Gabe Lench (left) and Isaiah Logue (right) were honored this week by the Big South Conference for their shared first-place finish at the Rees Jones Invitational.

Following a shared first place finish earlier this week at the 2015 Rees Jones Invitational, Liberty's Isaiah Logue and Gabe Lench have been honored by the Big South Conference.

Logue was named the Big South Men's Golfer of the Week, while Lench took home Big South Men's Golf Freshman of the Week honors.

Both players finished atop the 55-man leaderboard at the 2015 Rees Jones Invitational, carding a 1-under par 215 to share individual medalist honors.

The pair helped the Flames capture the team title at the event with Liberty finishing 21 strokes ahead of second-place Campbell. As a team, the Flames carded a 1-over par 865 (295-286-284) on the Haig Point Golf Course (par 72, 7,380 yards) in Daufuskie Island, S.C.

Logue (74-72-69) closed the event with a 3-under par 69, his second sub-70 round of the year and the seventh of his collegiate career. The sophomore led the tournament in par-4 scoring, averaging 3.90 strokes per par-4 hole. He also finished the event tied for third with 11 birdies and tied for sixth with 35 pars.

This is the second weekly honor this year for Logue. He was named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week, last week, after finishing in third place at the Rod Myers Invitational.

Lench (74-68-73) matched Logue's 1-under par score in his second collegiate event. He fired the tournament's best 18-hole score during the second round with a 4-under par 68. The freshman led the Kennesaw State hosted event with 15 birdies.

Logue and Lench, along with the rest of Liberty's team, will return to action next week when they participate in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole event gets underway on Oct. 3 and will be played at the UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
