Following a strong showing at the Flames' first event of the year, Liberty's Isaiah Logue has been named the Big South Men's Golfer of the Week.
The sophomore opened the 2015-16 season with a third-place finish at last weekend's Rod Myers Invitational, carding a 5-under par 211 (67-73-71).
He opened the two-day, 54-hole event with a 5-under par 67, the lowest 18-hole total of his collegiate career. The round also marked the seventh time in his career he has posted a sub-70 score.
The native of Fairfield, Pa., played two of his three rounds at the Duke hosted event below par, giving him 18 career rounds at or below par. His 5-under par 211 accounted for the sixth time he has posted an under-par score at a collegiate event.
Last year, Logue was named Big South Men's Golf Freshman of the Week seven times en route to being named 2015 Big South Freshman of the Year.
Logue and the Flames travel to Daufuskie Island, S.C., this weekend to start play in the Rees Jones Invitational on Sunday. The three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Kennesaw State at the Haig Point Golf Course.
