The Liberty Lady Flames lacrosse squad prepares for the upcoming 2016 season with a tournament each weekend during the month of October. Head coach Kelly Nangle returns seven starters, including leading goal scorer Katy Pridemore and Big South first team honoree Colleen Ekert.
The Lady Flames will open fall competition on Oct. 4 when they travel to Robert Morris to compete in the Robert Morris Play Day.
On Oct. 10, the Lady Flames head to Blacksburg, Va., to participate in the Virginia Tech Play Day. While in Blacksburg, the Lady Flames will take on fellow Big South foes Winthrop and Longwood. In addition, Liberty will square off against Davidson and host Virginia Tech.
The following weekend, the Lady Flames travel to Fairfax, Va., competing in the George Mason Play Day on Oct. 17. Liberty will take on Robert Morris at 10 a.m., William & Mary at noon, Georgetown at 2 p.m. and conclude the tournament at 4 p.m. with a showdown against Manhattan. Each team will play four games of two 25-minute running clock halves.
The Lady Flames will host its annual alumni game on Oct. 24 followed by a team banquet in the afternoon.
The fall schedule will conclude on Halloween when the Lady Flames trek down to Buies Creek, N.C. to compete in the Campbell Play Day.
