Smith, who played under current Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay his senior season, capped the year with 615 tallies en route to earning 2009 Big South All-Conference first team honors. That year, the Flames finished with a 23-12 record, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2009 Postseason Tournament.
