2015 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad
For the second consecutive season, and third time overall, the Liberty lacrosse squad has been recognized for academic success by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). As announced this week, the Lady Flames were listed among the recipients of the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.
There were a total of 262 squads to earn the award this year, eight more teams than listed in 2014. The honor went to programs ranging from NCAA Division I through Division III that maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Liberty lacrosse accumulated a 3.35 overall GPA through the 2014-15 academic year, ranking fourth among women's athletics programs at Liberty. Liberty is one of seven Big South teams to capture the award this season.
The Lady Flames were one of 83 NCAA Division I women's lacrosse programs to receive the 2015 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad. Division I programs made up 32 percent of the overall recipients this year.
