A week before Liberty opens its August training camp, the Flames will officially kick off the season by participating in the 2015 Big South Football Media Day events, Wednesday and Thursday.
The two-day event is being held this year at the College Football Hall of Fame and the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria, in Atlanta, Ga.
The event begins on Wednesday at the College Football Hall of Fame, which will include player tours of the College Football Hall of Fame and a series of live radio and streaming broadcasts.
Liberty's Head Football Coach Turner Gill, senior quarterback Josh Woodrum and senior defensive lineman Chima Uzowihe will be live on the Big South Network's coverage of Football Media Day, starting at 4:45 p.m. The free video stream, which runs from 4 to 6:30 p.m., will be available on the Big South Network and ESPN3.
Later that evening, the Big South Conference will host its annual Kickoff Dinner Banquet on the Playing Field of the College Football Hall of Fame. During the banquet, each head coach will give their remarks on the upcoming football season.
On Thursday, the Big South Football Media Day events will shift to the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria. During the day, coaches and players will run through a series of media interviews with national, regional and local media members.
Throughout the day's events on Thursday, the Big South will have several social media engagement opportunities for fan involvement.
The conference is scheduled to start releasing the Big South preseason poll and preseason all-conference teams via its @BigSouthFB Twitter feed at 8:45 a.m.
Fans can follow and experience Big South Football Media Day via the league's social media platforms on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat on both days.
Fans can submit questions in advance for each team using the hashtag #BSCMediaDay, as well as, at www.facebook.com/bigsouthsports. The submitted questions will be answered during a new "Social Hangout" session on Thursday.
