2015 Men's Soccer Schedule
Nine home contests highlight a challenging 2015 slate for the Liberty Flames men's soccer team.
"We look forward to the difficult challenge in front of us this season," stated Liberty Head Coach Jeff Alder. "Our home slate offers our local soccer community the opportunity to see college soccer at the highest level."
"We have also been able to add some outstanding regional games against some former NCAA tournament teams James Madison and William & Mary. This out of conference schedule will stretch us and prepare our group of men for our Big South Conference regular season and postseason play."
Alder's Flames will begin their 2015 regular season schedule against Bluefield at Osborne Stadium on Aug. 28.
Liberty's remaining home schedule will be highlighted by non-conference matches against NC State and Marshall in early September. In Big South play, the Flames will welcome Gardner-Webb, Longwood, Presbyterian, Radford and Winthrop.
The Flames will have eight road games in 2015. Among the eight are non-conference matches at Commonwealth foes James Madison and William & Mary. Liberty will be squaring off with either team for the first time since 2004. In addition, the Flames will face Campbell, defending Big South Champion Coastal Carolina, High Point and UNC Asheville in conference play.
Liberty will begin its pursuit of the Big South title, starting Nov. 10. The conference's top eight teams will square off at the home fields of the top four teams that day. The winners will then advance to the semifinals on Nov. 13, with the Big South Championship final on Nov. 15. The semifinals and finals will be played at the Bryan Park Soccer Complex in Greensboro, N.C. The conference champion receives an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament.
