Incoming men's tennis freshman Eddie Gutierrez is ranked among the top players in the country in the latest Prince Hot 100 List.
Gutierrez, a four-start recruit from Fullerton, Calif., is listed No.14 on the Hot List. He also ranks No. 29 in the Southwest region.
"We are excited for Eddie's progress," stated Liberty Men's Tennis Head Coach Chris Johnson. "He is a strong player and will continue to move up the rankings as he plays more matches. We are happy to see his hard work getting recognized!"
Gutierrez signed a national letter of intent last fall to attend Liberty for the 2015-16 academic year. He will join a Flames squad which finished the year ranked No. 8 in the Atlantic Region. Liberty posted a 14-10 overall record and a program-best 6-2 mark in 2015. Johnson team's mark in Big South action led to the Flames garnering the No. 2 seed for the Big South Men's Tennis Championship, the team's highest seed in program history. In addition, Liberty posted double-digit wins for the seventh consecutive season with 14 victories.
