The 2015 Liberty softball team made an 18-win improvement over the 2014 season, and the Lady Flames' pitching staff played a major role in the turnaround. Redshirt junior Chandler Ball, redshirt sophomore Kenzie Friesen and freshman Abby Tincher combined to throw seven total shutouts between them, while the team posted a 3.63 team ERA.
As the 2015 softball season wound down, the LFSN TV show Game On featured Liberty's three pitchers. The feature includes interviews with Ball, Friesen and Tincher.
Ball went 20-11 with a 3.20 ERA and four shutouts, becoming just the fourth Lady Flame all-time to earn 20 wins in a single season. She also was named to the Big South All-Conference and VaSID All-State second team. Friesen chipped in six victories, including two shutouts, while Tincher's three wins included a victory over Arkansas and a two-hit shutout of NCAA Regional qualifier Virginia Tech.
