Jocelyn Williams will compete in the women's hammer at the 2015 NCAA Division I Preliminary Round meet.

The three-day event will take place May 28-30 at North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.
A program-record seven women's athletes made the field, including Mychelle Cumings (shot put, discus), Abigail Flower (100, 200), Jessie Glynn (pole vault), Janae Jones (triple jump), Ednah Kurgat (10K), Jennifer Smith (hammer) and Jocelyn Williams (hammer).
Meanwhile, eight Flames are bound for Jacksonville, including Aklesso Agama (triple jump), Ryan Davis (400 hurdles), Zach Davis (high jump), Steve Feister (javelin), Fred Fulton (shot put, discus), Daniel Klase (javelin), Ken Ritchey (pole vault) and Kyle Wheeler (high jump).
The meet, which will determine the qualifiers for the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, will begin May 28 at noon with the men's hammer and women's javelin. Cumings will be the first Liberty athlete to compete, throwing the shot put at 3:30.
Cumings, Smith and Wheeler will all make their third appearance at the NCAA Preliminary Round meet. On the other end of the experience spectrum, Agama, Ryan Davis, Feister, Fulton, Ritchey, Flower, Glynn, Jones and Kurgat will each debut at the NCAA Preliminary Round meet next week.
Florida natives Agama (Miramar) and Ryan Davis (Lighthouse Point) will both return to their home state next week. Each of them competed in the Florida High School Athletic Association state championship meet at Hodges Stadium during their high school careers.
Flower will be the first Lady Flame ever to compete in either the 100 or 200 dash at the NCAA Preliminary Round meet, while Glynn is the first Liberty women's pole vaulter to qualify for this meet.
Williams is Liberty's top seed entering the meet, as the redshirt senior is listed No. 10 in the women's hammer at 200-10.
Cumings is the only current Liberty athlete who has competed at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, advancing to Eugene in the women's discus in 2013.
The 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be contested June 10-13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. The top 12 finishers in each event at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round meet will advance to Eugene, where they will be joined by 12 qualifiers per event from the concurrent NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round meet, which will take place in Austin, Texas.
