The Liberty Flames Sports Network's Game On show recently caught up with former men's golf standout Chase Marinell, talking with him about his unique start into the sport.
Marinell, who will begin his professional career on the PGA Tour Canada next week, was strongly encouraged to pursue golf by his mother, Amy Marinell. During the interview, Marinell talks about how his opportunity to play golf has allowed him a different avenue to share his personal faith.
Marinell was a two-time GCAA/PING All-Region selection during his four-year career at Liberty, finishing with the second-best career stroke average in program history (73.04).
Marinell was a part of three Big South championship squads for the Flames (2011, 2012 and 2014) and helped Liberty to four-straight NCAA Regionals (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014). As a senior, Marinell was selected the 2014 Big South Men's Golfer of the Year and completed his career with 18 top 10 finishes.
