Liberty senior second baseman Megan Robinson has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District III Softball Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), today.

The honor comes on the heels of yesterday's Big South All-Conference awards, when Robinson became the first Lady Flame to be named Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

As a result of her inclusion on the academic all-district team, Robinson will now appear on the ballot for the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Softball Team. Last season, Robinson became the first Academic All-American in program history, being voted to the third team.

Robinson, a native of Richlands, Va., holds a 4.0 GPA as a youth ministries major and is set to graduate with her bachelor's degree on Saturday. She becomes the second Lady Flame all-time to earn Academic All-District honors multiple times, joining Sonja Keith (1997-99).

Robinson has been one of Liberty's top batters this season. She bats .317 with five doubles and 19 RBI. Robinson went on a team-best 14-game hitting streak, hitting .435 from March 7 through March 28. She has recorded 13 multiple-hit games, including three three-hit contests. She posted the first hit and scored the first run in Liberty Softball Stadium history.

The senior is a three-time Big South All-Academic team member, while also twice being named an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete. She is a three-time recipient of Big South Presidential Honor Roll recognition. Robinson was named to the Big South All-Conference first team last season before earning second-team mention this year.

Robinson and the Lady Flames open play at the 2015 Big South Softball Championship today against No. 5 seed Charleston Southern. Liberty drew the fourth seed for this week's conference tournament, which is taking place at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium in Buies Creek, N.C.
