Jade Vorster led the Lady Flames in both kills and blocks on Saturday at the RVC Invitational.
The Liberty volleyball team concluded its spring invitational schedule last Saturday, competing at an invitational hosted by the Richmond Volleyball Club. While in Richmond playing four two-set matches, the Lady Flames posted a 2-1-1 record.
The Lady Flames split a pair of sets with VCU (25-21, 18-25). Liberty posted straight-sets victories over both Randolph-Macon (25-13, 25-19) and Mary Washington (25-21, 25-15). The squad faced defending Patriot League Champion American, falling to the Eagles in two hard-fought sets (23-25, 24-26).
For the day, junior Jade Vorster led the Lady Flames with 31 kills and five solo blocks. Redshirt junior Caroline Douglas totaled 25 kills and 10 digs, while freshmen Gabrielle Vess and Sirena Vorster contributed 15 kills apiece. Junior Allie Reynolds collected a team-best 17 digs, while freshman Hannah Williams registered 16 digs and junior Kate Corson added 13 digs. Sophomore Nzea McQuitery posted 11 kills and two solo blocks. Freshman Anna Willey posted a strong all-around day at setter, totaling nine digs and two solo blocks in addition to her distribution.
