LibertyFlames.com continues its spring practice coverage today with LFSN reporter Alan York visiting with senior wide receiver Darrin Peterson.
Peterson, a two-time All-Big South first team selection (2013 and 2014), set single-season program records in 2014 with 85 receptions and 1,379 receiving yards. He also finished the year with 12 receiving touchdowns, the second highest single-season total in program history.
The native of Attalla, Ala., finished the year with eight 100-yard receiving games, giving him a school-record 12 career 100-yard receiving games. He was one of three Liberty players to earn 2014 Sports Network All-America honors, as he was named to the second team.
Peterson finished the year ranked No. 4 in receiving yards, No. 10 in the country in receiving touchdowns and receiving yards per game (98.5) and No. 25 in receptions per game (6.1).
Liberty is gearing up for its annual Spring Football Game, which will be held at Williams Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff for the intrasquad scrimmage is set for 2 p.m.
