1. Liberty enters the week with a 17-10 overall record and 4-2 mark in Big South Conference play. Liberty swept a three-game Big South Conference series with Presbyterian this past weekend at Liberty Baseball Stadium.

• 1B/C Alex Close was named the Big South Player of the Week for March 23-29. Close hit .500 during the week with nine RBI, seven runs scored and two home runs.

• Close tied a career-high with six RBI in Liberty's 9-5 win over Presbyterian, Friday. The first baseman belted a two-run home run and a grand slam in the win. He scored three times.

• C Becker Sankey belted a home run in each game of Liberty's sweep of Presbyterian, this past weekend. He leads the Flames and is second in the Big South with seven home runs. He is tied for third in the conference with 55 total bases.

• OF/RHP Ashton Perritt pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief in Liberty's 9-3 win over Presbyterian, Sunday. Perritt allowed one hit and struck out one.

• OF/1B Andrew Yacyk drove in three runs in the Flames' win, Sunday.

• OF Will Shepherd collected two hits, walked, stole two bases and scored three times in Liberty's 9-5 victory over Presbyterian, Friday.

• Saturday, Shepherd also had two hits. One of his hits was his first triple of the season. He drove in two runs and scored a run in the contest.

• LHP Shawn Clowers moved to 6-1 with 5 2/3 scoreless innings of relief in Flames' win, Friday. Clowers leads the Big South with six wins.

• Clowers is tied for the team lead in appearances (10) with RHP Caleb Evans.

• LHP Jared Lyons pitched his second complete game in as many outings in a 4-1 win, Saturday. Lyons struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

• Lyons was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week for March 16-22, after allowing three hits in pitching his first shutout of the year in a 3-0 win at Radford, March 22.

• Senior Alex Close has been named the Big South Player of the Week for March 22-29.

• The first baseman hit .500 (10-for-20) with two home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored in five games last week. He recorded three doubles.

• Close collected a hit in each of Liberty's five contests, including four multi-hit games.
