Prior to the opening of the Liberty Softball Stadium last week, Andy Freeman of the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) TV show Game On went on a stadium tour with head coach Dot Richardson.
The Liberty Softball Stadium is a 1,000-seat venue with all of the latest technology. The stadium has home, visiting and umpires' locker rooms, an expansive athletic training room, a state-of-the-art team meeting room, coaches' offices, a large press box, indoor batting cages and a large scoreboard and video board, among other amenities.
The Lady Flames inaugurated their new softball stadium by hosting the Liberty Softball Classic, downing Rider, 9-2 on Thursday in the first game in stadium history. Liberty has posted a 3-2 record so far at the new facility. Fans will have plenty of chances to see the Lady Flames in action within the next month. Liberty has 18 remaining home games, including four conference series and doubleheaders against Virginia Tech, Virginia and Hampton.
