Lady Flames to Conclude California Trip, Friday

After falling to the Southern California Trojans by a score of 20-6 on Monday in Los Angeles, Calif., the Lady Flames look to rebound on Friday as they take on the San Diego State Aztecs in San Diego, Calif. Liberty concludes its California trip with the Aztecs on Friday at 10 p.m. Eastern at the Aztec Lacrosse Field. The Lady Flames enter the contest with a 1-5 record while San Diego State arrives with a 3-2 overall record.

Series History Versus the Aztecs                       
Friday's contest will mark the first time that these two programs have squared off on the pitch. The Aztecs are in their fourth year of play as a Division I program, while the Lady Flames are in their sixth.

Previewing the Lady Flames
Liberty hopes to bounce back from a tough 20-6 loss at the hands of USC on Monday in Los Angeles, Calif. The Trojans jumped out to an early six-goal lead and did not look back.

On the season, Liberty is led by freshman Katy Pridemore. The Vero Beach, Fla., native enters Friday's contest with 22 points on the season. In Monday's loss, Pridemore finished the contest with one goal and two assists to bring her season total to 15 goals and seven assists.

Sam Struss enters the competition on Friday with a team-high tying 15 goals on the season and is tied for second on the squad in assists with four. Struss' season total 19 points ranks second on the squad behind Pridemore.

Juliann Elmer ranks first in the nation in saves with 91 and saves per game with 15.17. Despite the standout performance for the Phoenix, Md., native Elmer enters the contest with a 1-5 overall record.

Previewing the Aztecs
After dropping its first two contests of the season, San Diego State enters the showdown winners of three straight contests. Among those three games is a familiar foe for the Lady Flames. On March 6, the Aztecs bested Big South competitor, Campbell by a score of 16-8 in Fresno, Calif. In their most recent contest, the Aztecs defeated Fresno State, 15-4, this past Sunday in Fresno, Calif.

San Diego State's top goal scorer comes from the bench as Alex Watson enters the contest with 10 goals on the year. Watson has competed in all five matches, but has yet to start a contest. The Aztecs' points leader is Michaela Jarvis, entering the contest with 11 points on four goals and seven assists.

Katrina Reeves has started between the pipes in each of the five contests, entering the showdown with a 2-2 record in goal. Reeves has made 38 saves on the season for 7.6 saves per game.

Looking Ahead
Following Friday's contest, the Lady Flames return to the Old Dominion state to take on George Mason in Fairfax, Va. on March 18. The contest is slated to begin at 4 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
