Introducing Field Hockey Newcomer, Erin Bradshaw

Erin Bradshaw joins the Liberty program from Lakeland High School in Suffolk, Va. where she was a four-year letterwinner and starter. Lakeland High School also produced current Lady Flame Summer Parker. In Bradshaw's final high school contest, she set a personal record with 34 saves in a single game against Maggie Walker. Bradshaw also competed in swimming and soccer as well as field hockey, where she was named to first team all-conference at least once in each sport. Bradshaw garnered first team all-district goalie honors in 2012, first team all-state honors in 2013 and first team all-conference accolades in 2014. Bradshaw also competed in USA Futures all four years of high school. Bradshaw successfully led her club team, Saints Hockey Rocks, to the national championship tournament in 2013, coming in ninth place.

Bradshaw volunteers at her church for vacation Bible school and can be found helping out in the local community at clinics or as a youth camp leader for grades four through seven.

Why did you choose Liberty?

"I chose Liberty because the girls play for a higher purpose.  My favorite thing about Liberty's campus is it is constantly growing. My goal coming into Liberty is to come out fighting for a spot on the team and to grow not only in academics but in my faith as well."

Assistant Coach Jacki Raithel on Bradshaw:

"Erin's enthusiasm, coachability, athleticism and intuitive understanding of the game will be a great asset to the Lady Flames. I look forward to training Erin as I suspect that she will challenge herself and her teammates daily, all the while displaying quiet confidence and positivity. With four years ahead of her, I am eager to see how Erin's career at Liberty unfolds."

Head Coach Jodi Murphy on Bradshaw:

"It is with great excitement that I welcome Erin to the Liberty Field Hockey family. Through her club and high school experience, Erin is familiar with success and knows what it is going to take to compete at this level. As a goalkeeper, she has a tremendous amount of aggressiveness. She is powerful and athletic. Under Coach Jacki's guidance, I think she will develop into a very strong student of the game."
