During Liberty's week off from softball competition, Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) caught up with redshirt junior pitcher Chandler Ball for an interview.

Ball, a redshirt junior from Warner Robins, Ga., has led the Lady Flames' pitching staff so far this season, with a 3-4 record and 37 strikeouts. Coming off of a knee injury that forced her to miss all but three games of the 2014 season, Ball has shouldered much of the pitching load early on this year.

Ball was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 17, her first pitcher of the week honor. At the Dot Richardson Invitational, Feb. 13-15, she went 2-1 with a 2.47 ERA, 17 strikeouts and a .233 opponents' batting average in 22 2/3 innings pitched. She shut out both Cleveland State and UMass Lowell, for her second and third career shutouts.

The Lady Flames head to South Carolina next Wednesday, and will compete at South Carolina next Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. before traveling to Charleston, S.C., to compete in the Holy City Showdown on March 6-8.
