Liberty Athletics is making admission free to tonight's home men's basketball game against Longwood. Tipoff between the two in-state foes is set for 8 p.m.
The two teams enter the contest with identical 7-20 overall records, while the Lancers are 3-11 in Big South play and Liberty is 1-13 in league action.
The Flames picked up their first Big South victory of the season last time they played in the Vines Center, last Tuesday. Liberty defeated Campbell, 73-60, thanks to the Flames' second-best shooting performance of the year (55.8 percent/24-of-53).
Liberty will be looking to avenge an earlier season setback to Longwood, 85-71, at Willett Hall in Farmville, Va., on Jan. 17.
A pair of transfer players for Longwood lived up to their billing, as Shaquille Johnson and Quincy Taylor posted 31 and 21 points, respectively, to lead the Lancers past the visiting Flames.
David Andoh paced Liberty with a career-high 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field and 10-of-10 at the foul line. Andoh's free throws marked the first time a Flame has garnered at least 10 points from the charity stripe since John Caleb Sanders hit 11 foul shots to help Liberty defeat Charleston Southern in the 2013 Big South Championship, 87-76 (March 10, 2013).
