2015 SunTrust Gator Invitational Live Scoring

Liberty will continue its spring golf schedule this weekend when the Flames return to Florida to participate in the 2015 SunTrust Gator Invitational.

The two-day, 54-hole event will be contested at Florida's Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. (par 70, 6,701 yards).

The 14-team field will have a shotgun start on Saturday morning, starting at 8 a.m., beginning a 36-hole day. The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday, with staggered tee times from 8 to 10 a.m., off the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.

The event, which started in 1978, has attracted some of the best collegiate golf programs in the country and has seen some of the developing players in the game claim individual victory.

Among the list of medalist honors, include PGA Tour professionals Jonas Blixt (2005), Chris Couch (1994 & 1995), Chris DiMarco (1990), Billy Horschel (2009), Jeff Klauk (1998), Graeme McDowell (2002), Alex Rocha (2000) and David Toms (1989).

The Gators, currently ranked No. 38 by Golfstat, have used the knowledge of their home course to their advantage, winning the tournament 23 in 37 years of competition, including 10 medalist honors.

This year's 14-team field includes seven programs ranked inside the top 50, spotlighted by No. 3 Florida State and No. 5 Vanderbilt. Rounding out the top 50 teams at this event are No. 22 USF, No. 27 North Florida, No. 33 UAB, No. 38 Florida and No. 47 Georgia Southern.

No. 57 Arkansas was the event winner in 2014. The Razorbacks (286-284-279-849) finished six strokes ahead of event runner-up Florida State (284-292-279-855).

Liberty has participated in the Florida hosted event each of the last three seasons. The Flames finished tied for seventh place in 2013 and 2014, while posting a sixth-place finish in 2006. Liberty has averaged a 290.33 team stroke average on the course during its last three seasons at this event.

Head Coach Jeff Thomas' starting five for this weekend includes senior Mathieu Fenasse, sophomore Hutson Chandler and freshmen Adam Eineving, Austin Inman and Isaiah Logue.

Fenasse is the only player in the group with any prior competition experience at the course. The native of Lias, France, has posted a 74.44 stroke average in three prior events. His best showing came during his freshman season when he finished tied for 30th place with a 12-over par 222 (72-75-75).

Fenasse leads the Flames on the season with a 74.20 stroke average, which includes a pair of top 10 finishes in six events.

Isaiah Logue follows with a 74.73 stroke average and has been Liberty's top finisher at the team's last two tournaments.

Live scoring for all three rounds of the 2015 SunTrust Gator Invitational will be provided by Golfstat.
