Liberty redshirt senior Nina Dunay has been selected to the 2015 Big South Preseason All-Conference squad, the first Lady Flame in program history to garner this award.
Dunay was tabbed to the second-team all-conference squad a year ago thanks to her 22 goals and 11 assists on the year. Dunay was also able to get the job done on the defensive side of the ball as well, causing a team-best 23 turnovers.
The Ashburn, Va. native continues to climb further into the record books for the Lady Flames. She currently holds the program record for career goals with 99 and ranks first in program history with 131 points. Dunay currently sits third in program history in assists (32) and caused turnovers (54) and looks to elevate to the top of those categories as she leaves her mark on the program.
"Nina is very deserving of this honor, as she is a true midfielder who is a presence on both ends of the field," stated head coach Kelly Nangle. "It's always refreshing to see players who do all of the little things get recognition. We are very thankful to have her back this year."
Winthrop's Jenna Kasmarik garnered the preseason offensive player of the year award while Maddy Ciardi of Coastal Carolina and Tori Dunster of High Point split the decision for preseason defensive player of the year honors.
