Lady Flames Listed No. 18 in Mid-Major Top 25

For the third consecutive week, the Big South-leading Liberty women's basketball team is ranked in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25. This week, the Lady Flames check in at No. 18.

After suffering its first Big South setback at Winthrop (63-58) on Jan. 20, the Lady Flames have responded with back-to-back conference victories over Campbell (64-40) and UNC Asheville (62-58). At 14-6 overall and 10-1 in Big South play, Liberty owns a one-game lead over High Point in the conference standings.

The Lady Flames are the first NCAA Division I women's basketball team to reach 10 conference victories this season. Liberty has now won 10 or more Big South games for 16 consecutive years.

Princeton, James Madison, Green Bay, Chattanooga and Florida Gulf Coast own the top five positions in the rankings, which are made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.

Liberty will travel to High Point Saturday at 2 p.m. before returning home to face Radford Monday at 7 p.m.
