The Flames Sports Hotline, a weekly radio call-in show, returns to the airwaves this evening at 7 p.m. at Doc's, featuring head men's basketball coach Dale Layer, head women's basketball coach Carey Green and head baseball coach Jim Toman.
For the second year in a row, the Flames Sports Hotline will air weekly on the ESPNinVA network, which includes the following ESPN Radio stations in the Central Virginia area: 93.3 FM (Lynchburg), 106.3 FM (Danville), 1240 AM (Roanoke), 1320 AM (Lynchburg) and 1350 AM (Bedford).
The weekly show is hosted locally in Lynchburg on Liberty University's campus at Doc's, and the restaurant is open to the student body and the general public. The show is broadcast live throughout the 50's-style diner and fans are encouraged to participate during the call-in segments.
Alan York, the radio play-by-play broadcaster for football and men's basketball, hosts the call-in show.
The Flames (6-15, 0-8 Big South) will host two games in the Vines Center this week, beginning with High Point Thursday at 7 p.m. and Charleston Southern on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The conference-leading Lady Flames (13-6, 9-1 Big South) will host UNC Asheville Tuesday at 7 p.m. before playing at High Point Saturday at 2 p.m.
Liberty's baseball team opened practice for the 2015 season, last week. The Flames' season opener is scheduled for Feb. 13 at Kennesaw State.
Following the first few segments, York will open up the phone lines and field questions from the radio listening audience or those seated inside Doc's. Fans unable to make it out to Doc's each Monday night may call in at (877) 401-9041 to participate in the weekly show.
Those not able to participate in the call-in portion of the show can also email their questions to LFSN@liberty.edu, prior to the start of the show.
Flames Nation fans can listen to the show locally by tuning their radio dials to any of the ESPNinVA network of stations in the Central Virginia area. The show will also air live online at LibertyFlames.com and can be heard by clicking on the link above.
