As the Liberty softball team continues to gear up for its 2015 season, Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) had a chance to interview senior second baseman Megan Robinson.
Robinson, a native of Richlands, Va., had a breakthrough season in 2014, batting .303 with a team-high 10 doubles to go along with eight homers and 26 RBIs. She took command of the second base position early in the season, and ended up being voted to the Big South All-Conference first team. Last season, Robinson became the first Liberty softball player to be named an Academic All-American, receiving Capital One Academic All-America third team honors. She is also a two-time member of the Big South All-Academic Team.
The Lady Flames open the 2015 campaign at the Sand Dollar Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala. Liberty will face a nationally-ranked team in the season opener for the first time in program history, taking on No. 23 South Alabama on Feb. 6.
