At the end of the fall semester, Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) had a chance to talk with Liberty Softball Head Coach Dot Richardson.
Pierce and Richardson discussed several topics in the interview, which took place on the field at the new Liberty Softball Stadium, nearing completion. Richardson spoke about the fall season, which saw the Lady Flames post a 5-2 record, including a 3-0 mark at the Liberty Invitational. She also gave a look into some of the features at the new stadium, along with the impact that the facility will have on the program going forward.
Liberty will take on a challenging schedule in 2015, including a game at defending national champion Florida. The Lady Flames open the season at the Sand Dollar Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala., meeting nationally-ranked South Alabama on Feb. 6. The Lady Flames will open the Liberty Softball Field officially on March 19 against Rider, in the first game of a home tournament. Liberty will have 23 home games at the new stadium, including home dates with ACC foes Virginia and Virginia Tech.
