For the eighth time in head coach Jeff Alder's 14 years, the Liberty Flames men's soccer team  posted a double-digit win total in 2014.  The Flames posted an 11-6-1 overall record and recorded a 6-3 mark in Big South Conference play.

Despite a disappointing finish to the season with a 4-1 loss in the conference semifinals at Winthrop, the future seems bright for the Flames, as they will lose just one starter from this year's squad in goalkeeper Scott Sutarik. Six freshmen saw significant action throughout the season.

A 2014 Big South All-Conference second team member, Sutarik finished his career third in Liberty annuals with a 0.97 goals-against average, while posting a 28-15-7 record and logging over 4,600 minutes in the Flames goal during his career.  The Palentine, Ill., native also finished second all-time in program history with 22 shutouts.

Forward Sachem Wilson lead the Flames in scoring for the second consecutive year in 2014.  The junior scored eight goals and assisted on another in compiling 17 during the year. An honorable mention member of the Big South All-Conference team, Wilson tied for fourth in the conference in goals.

Big South All-Conference first team defender Tim Harbison continued to be a fixture in the Liberty line-up during 2014.  The junior played in all 18 games, extending his consecutive start streak to 56 contests.  The defender scored four goals and notched an assist for nine points to finish second on the team in scoring.

Alder appeared on the Liberty Flames Sports Network's (LFSN) GAME ON to recap the season and discuss the future of Flames men's soccer.
