Liberty junior Kendall Hough was named CCSA Swimmer of the Week, as announced Tuesday, for her strong performance in Corvallis, Ore., last Friday.
Hough, a native of Woodbridge, Va., earns her first career CCSA Swimmer of the Week honor. She is the seventh Lady Flame in program history to be named Swimmer of the Week and the first since Jess Reinhardt on Feb. 5, 2014.
Hough helped the Lady Flames post wins over Oregon State of the Pac-12 and Seattle on Friday. She won both individual events in which she competed, and swam leadoff on Liberty's victorious 200 medley relay. Hough led a 1-2-3 Liberty sweep in the 100 backstroke, clocking 56.34. Her time of 51.02 won the 100 freestyle, as the Lady Flames went 1-2-3 in that event as well. She swam leadoff in 26.55 on Liberty's winning 200 medley relay. She ended the meet by anchoring the Lady Flames' top 400 free relay in 51.10, as her team finished in 3:29.46.
Hough's times which she recorded on Friday are the top times by any Lady Flame so far this season in the 100 free and the 100 back.
The Lady Flames (3-0, 1-0 CCSA) will next compete at the Virginia Tech Sprint Classic, held on Saturday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. While at Saturday's event, Liberty will face Penn State, Virginia Tech, James Madison and Old Dominion.
