Following the team's final full practice this week, head football coach Turner Gill met with the media on Thursday to discuss his team's preparation for the Indiana State game.
The Flames, who enter the game with a 3-1 record, will be looking for their fourth win in a row and their ninth in the last 10 games. A win would improve Liberty's all-time mark versus Missouri Valley Football Conference foes to 4-10, including back-to-back victories (last time was a 31-28 win at Youngstown State on Sept. 27, 2008).
Saturday will mark Liberty's first-ever contest at Indiana State and the Flames' first game in the Hoosier State since Sept. 11, 2010. That day, Liberty recorded a 27-23 victory at Ball State in Muncie, Ind.
The Sycamores lead the series with the Flames, 1-0. Indiana State won the only previous meeting in the series, 34-10, on Sept. 28, 1996, at Williams Stadium.
Indiana State has already doubled its win total from 2013, starting the year with a 2-1 record. Most recently, the Sycamores posted a 27-20 win at Ball State on Sept. 13, marking Indiana State's first win over the Cardinals since 1987.
The Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) will provide both radio and television coverage for the home contest. For more information about where to watch and/or listen to LFSN's coverage of the game, check out the Game Day Central page for this Saturday's evening contest.
