Liberty field hockey head coach Jodi Murphy led a group from the university on a service project to the East African nation of Uganda this past summer. The nine-member team spent two weeks participating in various projects.

One project the team was involved in was helping to build a school in a local village. Afterwards, the team gathered the village's children for a time of singing, dancing and playing field hockey.

The team participated in a field hockey camp in a nearby town. At the camp, the team taught the game of field hockey and built up relationships with the children. Throughout the year, the Liberty field hockey team runs camps and clinics to gather the funds to provide hockey sticks, balls and uniforms for the villages of Uganda.

The video provided by GameOn's Mike O'Neal provides an inside look of the team's trip this past summer.
