Richardson Named NorPac Rookie of the Week

Liberty forward Alynn Richardson has been named NorPac Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, for contests played from Sept. 1-7.

Richardson, a native of Glendale, Mo., earns her first Rookie of the Week honor.  She is the first Lady Flame to garner the award since Serena Barr, who received the honor on Oct. 14, 2013.

Richardson recorded her first collegiate goal on Sunday afternoon against No. 9 Old Dominion.  She also had a shots on goal percentage of 100 percent after flicking all four shots on frame.

For the season, Richardson is second on the team in shots with four and tied for second on the team in points with two.  Following Richardson's goal on Sunday, she is now tied for first on the team in goals with one.

The Rookie of the Week will look to help the Lady Flames halt their losing streak as they travel to Easton, Pa. to take on the Lafayette Leopards on Friday at 7 p.m.  Liberty will then turn around two days later to play at Penn in a contest starting at 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
