Former Flame Kevin Fogg is the second Liberty standout cornerback from the 2013 squad to join the Miami Dolphins' roster this year as he signed a free agent contract with the NFL franchise, yesterday.
Fogg is reunited with his fellow Flames' defensive backfield teammate Walt Aikens in Miami, who was drafted by the Dolphins in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft in May.
With the free agent pick up of Fogg, Liberty now has five active football alumni currently on NFL rosters: Walt Aikens (DB/Miami Dolphins), Mike Brown (WR/Jacksonville Jaguars), Kevin Fogg (DB/Miami Dolphins), Rashad Jennings (RB/New York Giants) and Chris Summers (WR/Buffalo Bills).
Fogg earned All-Big South first-team honors in 2013, helping the Flames post an 8-4 record and capture a share of the Big South title with Coastal Carolina.
After returning from a season-ending injury two games in 2012, Fogg finished the 2013 campaign sixth on the team in tackles (45). He was second on the team in solo stops (35) and 79.5 percent of his tackles in 2013 were solo tackles.
He recorded four interceptions in 2013 to give him nine for his Liberty career. His fourth interceptions helped the Flames finish the year ranked No. 5 in the country in interceptions (18).
The native of Raleigh, N.C., finished his Liberty playing career with 150 tackles, nine interceptions and 17 pass breakups. He earned All-America honors as a return specialist in 2011 when he led the country with three kickoff returns for a touchdown.
