Ashton Perritt and Dalton Britt have been named to the 2014 Big South All-Tournament team.
Liberty shortstop Dalton Britt and outfielder/pitcher Ashton Perritt were named to the 2014 Big South Baseball Championship All-Tournament team, following the completion of the Big South title game today at the Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C.
Britt hit .357 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored, this past week at the Big South Baseball Championship. A Big South All-Conference team member this season, the sophomore collected at least one hit in each of the Flames' four games at the tournament.
He had two hits and a RBI in Liberty's 3-0 win over Gardner-Webb on Tuesday. The shortstop also drove in two runs to tie the Flames' contest against Radford, Friday. Liberty went on to win the game, 4-3.
It is the second all-tournament team honor for Britt. The shortstop was selected to the all-tournament team last season.
Perritt also hit .357 during the Big South Baseball Championship. The center fielder had four doubles and two RBIs, while scoring two runs. In addition, the junior made three appearances on the mound, earning a save during his 3 2/3 innings of work during the tournament.
A 2014 Big South All-Conference team member as a relief pitcher, Perritt recorded his career-high 12th save with an inning of scoreless relief in Liberty's 4-3 win over Radford, Friday.
Meanwhile as the Flames' starting center fielder, he collected two-hit games against Gardner-Webb on Tuesday and Winthrop on Saturday.
Perritt's selection to the all-tournament team is his second. Last season, Perritt earned selection to the team and was named the 2013 Big South Baseball Championship MVP.
