A home run by Big South Player of the Year Ryan Seiz with one out in the eighth inning lifted the No. 1 seed Liberty Flames past the No. 5 seed Radford Highlanders, late last night in Game 10 of the 2014 Big South Baseball Championship.
Trailing 3-1 after two innings of play, Liberty relievers Matt Marsh and Shawn Clowers held the Highlanders scoreless over the next six innings, as the Flames posted the come-from-behind victory.
Liberty advances to play No. 2 seed and tournament host Winthrop today in Game 12 of the Big South Championship. The contest is scheduled for 45 minutes after Game 11 between the No. 3 seed Campbell and No. 4 seed High Point and which starts at 10 a.m. Liberty will need to beat Winthrop twice in order to advance to tomorrow's title game.
