The Liberty Flames are ranked No. 30 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division I national poll, released this afternoon.
After receiving votes in the poll for several weeks, the Flames move into the poll for the first time in the No. 30 spot. The Flames enter the week with a 31-9 record, the best start by Liberty through its first 40 games in program history.
Liberty appeared in the 2014 Collegiate Baseball Newpaper's preseason poll at No. 35. In addition, Liberty finished the year ranked 26th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll after posting a 36-29 record and winning the Big South Championship in 2013.
Last week, Liberty appeared in one of the four national baseball polls during the regular season for the first time in program history, when the Flames were ranked No. 30 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). The NCBWA poll is due out later today.
Liberty travels to Clemson, S.C., for a contest against the No. 20 Clemson Tigers, tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
