With the 2014 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships slated to begin on Thursday in Rock Hill, S.C., Nick Pierce of the Liberty Flames Sports Network caught up with Liberty head coach Brant Tolsma and redshirt senior Meghan Burggraf to preview the meet.
The Flames are favored to win their eighth consecutive Big South outdoor team title, while the Lady Flames will aim to defend their championship from 2013.
Winthrop will host the three-day meet at Irwin Belk Track in Rock Hill, S.C., for the first time since 2008. The competition will get started Thursday at 2 p.m. with the men's hammer and heptathlon 100-meter hurdles. The meet is scheduled to conclude Saturday around 5 p.m.
