Liberty enjoyed a successful third day of spring football practice on Wednesday.

On a cloudy day in Lynchburg, Va., with rain in the forecast and threatening skies overhead, the Liberty football team completed its third day of spring practice on Wednesday at Williams Stadium.

The Flames were forced to move the time of practice up one hour due to the weather, which affected their schedule for the day. Due to the time change, several key personnel were missing due to classes, and various pre-practice meetings had to be postponed. Despite the weather, Liberty was still able to practice their traditional individual drills, as well as offense versus defense simulations and special teams situations, and several positives were drawn from the day's proceedings.

The Liberty quarterbacks continued to improve and develop, as stated by quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter. "I think the quarterbacks are progressing each and every day. It was tough, we were missing some personnel and some receivers who weren't there because of classes. Because of that, timing was a little off at certain points, but overall, I believe the quarterbacks are progressing each and every day."

As a whole, the Liberty coaching staff continues to emphasize focus, and the players have been continually learning during practice. "I think the kids are learning. During spring practice, you put in a lot of plays each day because you work on your whole offense, especially at the beginning since we're only finishing our third day", explained Streeter. "So I think the players, as far as understanding what we're trying to do offensively, are doing a very good job. I think today, especially with the missing receivers, everyone did a good job of remembering what they needed to do."
