With rain falling throughout the contest, Lambert went the full nine innings for the first time this season and the fourth time in his career. The right-hander, the winner in each of his last six starts, moves to 6-1 on the year. He allowed one hit, striking out seven and did not walk a batter. The only hit Lambert allowed in the game was a first inning, two-out double by PC first baseman Brad Zebedis.

The Flames had a runner thrown out at the plate to end their first at bat of the day to open the contest. With two out in the first inning, second baseman Ryan Seiz lined a double off the PC third baseman's glove and down the left field line. Designated hitter Beck Sankey followed by reaching on an infield single. When the throw to first in an attempt to retire Sankey appeared to get away from PC's Zebedis at first base, Seiz tried to score, only to be thrown out at home plate to end the frame.
In the bottom of the fourth, Lambert had to work out of scoring threat. Back-to-back fielding errors by Liberty infielders put runners on the corners to open the inning. But, Lambert held the runners in place, by sandwiching a pop out around two strike outs, keeping the game scoreless.
Liberty struck for the its first run of the contest in the fifth. With one out, right fielder Will Shepherd was hit by a pitch and moved to third on a double off the right field wall by Seiz. Sankey followed with a run-producing ground out to the second base for a 1-0 edge.

Seiz followed with his third double of the game into the left-center field gap to plate Lacik for a 2-0 advantage.
After Sankey was hit by a pitch, shortstop Dalton Britt singled through the left side of the infield to score Seiz and give Liberty a 3-0 lead. First baseman Alex Close followed with a RBI sacrifice fly and catcher Danny Grauer dropped a single into right field, allowing Britt to score for what proved to be the final score of 5-0.
