LibertyFlames.com continues its coverage of spring practice today with LFSN reporter Alan York visiting with Flames' senior wide receiver Gabe Henderson.
Henderson, who originally came to Liberty as a quarterback, showed that he has fully adjusted to his new role. He finished last year ranked second on the team in receptions (47) and receiving yards (641), plus the converted quarterback found the end zone three times.
Henderson highlighted his breakout season in 2013 with back-to-back 100-yard games. He finished the Old Dominion game with 120 receiving yards and followed that performance up with a 135-yard game against Coastal Carolina. He scored a touchdown in both games.
Henderson's efforts helped the Flames finish the season ranked No. 16 in the country in scoring offense with Liberty averaging 37.3 points per game.
On the practice field, the Flames will begin their most challenging stretch of practice this spring on Thursday afternoon. The Flames will practice on Thursday and Friday afternoon before holding a closed scrimmage on Saturday afternoon.
LibertyFlames.com will continue its coverage of spring practice with defensive reports on Friday and Saturday when York interviews defensive line coach Vantz Singletary and senior linebacker Nick Sigmon.
