Game Day Central
Complete Game Notes
The Game Fresh off a 79-59 victory over Campbell, Saturday, the Liberty men's basketball team returns to the Vines Center to host Longwood on Tuesday. The Lancers enter the contest looking to rebound from back-to-back losses to Radford and High Point. Longwood leads the all-time series versus the Flames, 19-9, and has taken the last two contests. However, the last meeting between the two squads in the Vines Center resulted in a 74-47 victory for the Flames (Jan. 22, 2013). Tipoff for 29th meeting in the series is slated for 7 p.m., with the contest airing live on the Liberty Flames Sports Network, MASN, ESPN3 and the Big South Network.
Fast Break - Averaging 13.4 turnovers per game this year (13.0 in the Big South play), Liberty has finished with eight turnovers in each of the last two games, marking the lowest two-game total (16), this season. The Flames season low in turnovers is seven versus Southeastern (Fla.) on Dec. 28, 2013.
- Liberty finished with five players in double scoring figures on Saturday, the first time since the Flames did so in a 79-73 overtime victory against Austin Peay almost a year ago to the day (Feb. 23, 2013). In that game, Tavares Speaks led Liberty with 18 points, followed by Davon Marshall (16), John Caleb Sanders (14), Tomasz Gielo (12) and JR Coronado.
- The Flames seven three-pointers on Saturday were the most since knocking down seven at Charleston Southern (Feb. 1). Liberty's seven treys against the Camels snapped a five-game streak in which the Flames made less than five three-pointers in a contest.
- Coming off a solid 15-point performance, Davon Marshall (782) needs 20 points to crack the top 30 on Liberty's all-time scoring list. Doing so would place him above former teammate Tavares Speaks (801).
