Complete Notes - Games 24-26 - at High Point

The Games
The Liberty University Flames (15-8, 2-1 Big South) travel to High Point, N.C., for a three-game Big South Conference series against the High Point University Panthers (11-13, 0-0 Big South), Friday-Sunday, at Willard Stadium. Friday's opening game of the series is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., with the contests on Saturday and Sunday both slated for 1 p.m.
The Series Against High Point
On Friday, the Flames and Panthers will meet for the 48th time. Liberty holds a 26-22  edge in the all-time series since 1977. Last season, the two squads split four meetings.  High Point took a three-game series, 2-1, May 19-21 at Worthington Stadium. The Panthers won the opener, 11-6, and the series finale, 13-8, while the Flames captured the middle game, 11-9. In the 2006 Big South Championship, Liberty defeated High Point, 9-7, in second-day game (May 25).

The Last Time Out
The Liberty Flames used a balanced offensive attack and a solid seven innings from starting pitcher David Stokes to defeat the UMBC Retrievers, 10-2, Wednesday afternoon at Worthington Stadium.
Stokes went seven innings, giving up just four hits, three of them singles, to improve his record to 4-3 on the season. The junior right-hander struck out three batters and did not issue a walk on the day.
  P. K. Keller, Tim Nanry, Kenneth Negron and Nate Thompson all had multiple-hit performances for Liberty on the afternoon.
