A Look at Liberty Liberty enters Tuesday's game looking to extend their home win streak to four games. The Flames have posted a 4-1 record at Osborne Stadium this season.
Liberty has dropped its last two outings, both on the road, entering Tuesday night's contest. This past Friday, the Flames fell at No. 5 Coastal Carolina, 1-0. The setback halted Liberty's two-game Big South Conference win streak.
Midfielder Sachem Wilson continues to pace the Flames in goals, assists and points. The sophomore has netted five goals and assisted on three others for 13 points. Sophomore Tim Harbison follows with 10 points on four goals and two assists.
Midfielder Blessing Tahuona and forward Kyle Breitmeyer join the pair as multiple-goal scorers this season. Tahuona has scored three goals, while Breitmeyer has netted two goals.
Tyler Bullock, Jonatan Torres, Sam Duininck, Jacob Sebold and Ernest Siaw have each scored a goal for the Flames in 2013.
Goalkeeper Jeremy Lee has started the past six contests and seven games in 2013 for Liberty. The redshirt freshman has logged over 685 minutes between the posts for the Flames this season, posting a 1.44 goals-against average and .732 save percentage.
Liberty has posted five shutouts, all coming in victories this season. As a team, Liberty enters Friday's game with a 1.34 goals-against average.
Liberty's Jeff Alder is in his 13th year as head coach at his alma mater. Alder has posted a 123-93-22 career record, while heading the Flames' program.
All-Time Against Longwood Tuesday evening will be the 21st meeting between the Flames and the Lancers on the soccer pitch, but only the second as Big South Conference opponents. Liberty leads the overall series, 14-3-3. The two squads have met during each of the past seven seasons, with the Flames holding a 5-0-2 mark in those matches. Last season, the Flames defeated the Lancers, 3-0, in Farmville, Va., on Sept. 1, 2012. Current Liberty defender Sam Duininck and midfielder Juan Nino scored goals in the contest.
A Look at Longwood The Longwood Lancers will enter Tuesday night's Big South matchup, fresh off a 2-1 win over Winthrop, this past Saturday. The Lancers scored with 29 seconds remaining to claim the victory.
Forward Anthony Ugorji leads the Lancers with four goals and nine points. Ben Ferrell and Zach Crandall each have added three goals.
Goalkeeper Carlos Canas has started 10 games between the posts for Longwood, posting a 1.18 goals-against average and .780 save percentage.
