A Look at Liberty
Liberty, 2-2, will be looking to get back in the win column on Saturday.  After starting the starting the year with two wins, the Flames dropped two contests this past week.

Last Saturday, Liberty fell 1-0 in a defensive game at Gardner-Webb to open the Big South Conference portion of its schedule.  The Runnin' Bulldogs converted a penalty kick in the first half for the game's lone goal.

Redshirt freshman Jeremy Lee made his first collegiate start in the net for the Flames in the contest, recording eight saves.

Liberty is led by midfielder Sachem Wilson, who has scored three goals and has seven points.

Kyle Breitmeyer, Jonatan Torres and Jacob Sebold have also each netted a goal for the Flames.

Lee and junior Scott Sutarik have both logged minutes in the Liberty goal this season. Lee has started one game and seen time in two games.  He has posted a 2.00 goals-against average and a .750 save percentage. Sutarik has started three contests, registering a 0.80 goals-against average and a .867 save percentage.

Liberty head coach Jeff Alder is in his 13th year at his alma mater.  Alder has posted a 118-88-22 career record, while heading the Flames' program.

A Look at American
American, 2-2-2, will enter Saturday's match off a 1-0 victory over Big South Conference member Longwood, Tuesday. Senior Colin Seigfreid's goal in the 15th minute gave the Eagles the victory.

American has not allowed a goal in its last 210:34 minutes.  The Eagles have not yielded a marker since a Sept. 8 contest against Denver.

Dale Ludwig and Cristobal Soto each have scored two goals to pace American. Ludwig has also added three assists to lead the Eagles with seven points.
Senior Billy Knutsen has logged every minute in the American goal this season. The goalkeeper has a 0.93 goals-against average and a .793 save percentage.

Head Coach Todd West is in his 14th season at American. The Eagles have posted a 119-110-31 record during his tenure.

All-time Against American
Saturday's matchup will be the fourth meeting between Liberty and American on the soccer pitch. The Flames lead the all-time series, 2-1.

Last season, Liberty won 1-0 over American on Liberty's East Campus Fields on Oct. 9. Kyle Breitmeyer's third goal of the year during the 29th minute was the difference in the victory.

A Look Ahead
Liberty returns home for a Big South Conference match, Tuesday.  The Flames will welcome the VMI Keydets to Osborne Stadium.  Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m
