Becca Haraf led the Liberty volleyball team with 23 digs and six aces during Tuesday night's Blue-White Scrimmage.
The Liberty volleyball team held its annual Blue-White scrimmage on Tuesday night at the Vines Center, with the White team winning, 4-1 (25-11, 25-20, 25-10, 20-25, 19-17). Due to the size and makeup of Liberty's roster, numerous players switched teams during the scrimmage. A total of four Lady Flames recorded 15 or more kills on Tuesday, led by Lillie Happel's 21. Kendle Rollins, Melissa Racz and Haley Jeffcoat all registered 15 kills, with Rollins tying for the team lead with nine blocks (two solo, seven assisted). Jade Craycraft led all players with 53 assists, to go with 20 digs and nine kills. Fellow setter Caila Stapleton also posted a double-double, with 32 assists and 11 digs. Nzea McQuitery tied Rollins' match-high block total of nine (three solo, six assisted), in addition to 11 kills. Monica Johnson tacked on four blocks to her 10-kill night, while Susan Babcock also had four blocks. Becca Haraf paced the team in both digs (23) and aces (six), while Allie Reynolds totaled 18 digs and three aces. Gabrielle Shipe and Kate Corson added 16 digs apiece. The Lady Flames open up their 2013 regular-season schedule on Friday, facing No. 23 Ohio State at 6 p.m. Eastern, in DeKalb, Ill. Liberty will then face host Northern Illinois and Green Bay on Saturday to finish out the NIU Invitational.
