On Thursday, quarterback Josh Woodrum, along with head coach Turner Gill and defensive lineman Cory Freeman, took part in Big South Football Media Day in Charlotte, N.C., to kick off the 2013 football season.
Following the annual Big South Football Media Day luncheon, where the preseason poll and preseason all-conference teams were announced, media breakout sessions where held in the Charlotte Plaza Uptown Hotel.
During the interview time, Liberty Flames Sports Network reporter Alan York had a chance to talk with Woodrum, who was named to the Big South preseason all-conference team.
Woodrum had a banner 2012 season, setting a freshman program record with 1,963 total offensive yards in his first year on the field for the Flames (1,966 passing yards, 11 touchdowns). He was named the Big South Freshman of the Year and VaSID Offensive Rookie of the Year, while finishing 13th in the final voting for the Jerry Rice Award (top FCS freshman in the country).
