In conjunction with Liberty University's College for a Weekend (CFAW) this fall, Liberty field hockey will be conducting a benefit clinic on Sept. 27-28. The clinic's first session will run from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 27. The second session will be conducted from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sept. 28, while the third session will begin at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. that same day. The event will be conducted at the Liberty Field Hockey Field. All proceeds will go to benefit head coach Jodi Murphy's Pathfinder Hockey organization. Recently, Murphy and members of the field hockey team traveled to Uganda on a mission's trip. While there, the team partnered with Pathfinder Hockey and Charlene's Project.

Murphy is the founder of Pathfinder Hockey, which was launched in 2008.  The organization's mission is "to use field hockey as a means to help young people around the world and within the United States find the path that leads to good health, positive change and hope."  Murphy has spent time in Uganda, creating a valuable partnership with Youth Sport Uganda to grow the sport of field hockey and use it as a medium for change. More information about the organization can be found at

Charlene's Project is a charity created by Charlene Barr, the late sister of Liberty midfielder Natalie Barr. Charlene was born with cystic fibrosis and passed away in Oct. of 2010. The entire Barr family has continued the efforts of the project, which focus primarily on the building of educational facilities in Uganda. Hidden Treasure, the charity's first school, opened in early 2011. A second school is currently under construction in the village of Kahara. The Barrs have also begun to coach and instruct field hockey camps in Uganda, supplying loads of equipment through donations.
